Hi! My name is Nicole Miller. I’m a Goshen native who graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, followed by a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education. I have worked in the counseling field since 2023, and prior to that, I spent about three years doing life-skills work with adults with severe mental illness.
Mental health has always been something I’ve been deeply passionate about, and I love being in a position to help and educate others. I have worked with a wide variety of people and concerns, four year olds with frequent meltdowns, children struggling with overwhelming anger or anxiety, teens who won’t talk to anyone, young adults trying to figure themselves out, and older adults navigating parenting, significant relationships, or other difficult stages of life. Whatever your situation, I am always willing to walk alongside you. That said, I am best suited to work with younger children, older teens, and adults of all ages dealing with anxiety, anger, grief, PTSD, life transitions, ADHD, or OCD.
The path to healing looks different for everyone. A common thread I try to bring us back to is identifying deeper wants, needs, and feelings. Hard times and difficult emotions come for all of us but why do we feel the way we do? Why do we do the things we do? Why do we think the things we think? Understanding our own patterns can help us change them for the better. After all, we can’t fix something if we don’t understand why it’s broken in the first place.
Even if we don’t have a lot of “breakthrough” moments, or if you decide we’re not the right fit for each other, my biggest hope is that you walk away from our time together feeling a little less nervous about your next session. Talking to someone about the deeper parts of yourself can be scary. When you’re with me, I want you to feel safe, supported, and empowered to make positive changes in your life.
