My name is Erin Floyd, and I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Goshen College and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. After earning my undergraduate degree, I worked as a behavior therapist for children on the Autism Spectrum, which sparked a passion for education. I went on to earn my Transition to Teaching certificate and served as a professional educator from 2015 to 2020.
When the Covid-19 pandemic began, I transitioned into working as a private tutor and educator for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. During this time, I discovered how much I value one-on-one connection, which led me back to the field of mental health counseling. I completed my practicum and internship at Michiana Counseling Group from 2023 to 2024.
Now, I’m excited to join Cornerstone Family Therapy as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHC-A). I enjoy working with diverse clients and supporting them through life’s challenges. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment theory, and EMDR therapy. I believe in meeting clients where they are, and I’m passionate about helping them gain insight, build self-awareness, and pursue growth at their own pace.
I currently offer in-person sessions at our Elkhart location, as well as virtual sessions for those who prefer to meet online.
